This work engages the public around questions of diaspora and identity, how the artist is part of a Palestinian diasporic community and how she creates space and time in which to engage the public around these issues. Through demonstrating traditional dyeing techniques using pomegranate, and framing this work with a collection of books and texts on diaspora and identity, along with family photographs, several hand stitched thobes or dresses (Each city in Palestine has a traditional style and stitch that is uniquely woven into each dress) as well as ‘contemporary music’ playing in the background.
